..and now this

In yesterday's Royal challengers V Deccan chargers game i saw Rahul Dravid play - for the lack of a better description, and yes there is no word for this shot in the MCC handbook either- a scoop shot over the short fine leg fielder for four. Another commonly used name for the shot is the Doug marillier shot, after its inventor .

Ok .. now i think i've seen everything i never thought i would ever see .

IPL is changing the way the game will be played , and even the players cant help but change. As for spectators we are just waiting with bated breath for the next six coming our way !!

Add sense ?

I've added ad sense, i dont know whether that makes any sense at all on this blog, but just wanted to check out how it works.

IP-Yell

Only the other day i was telling my friends how the royal challengers of bangalore should've actually been called the "Old Monks of bangalore".

I now need to to find an equally fitting name for the chennai super kings ... after their pathetic show against the RC of bangalore chasing 127.

Staying on the RC for the moment , so much stuff has worked against them in the league so far one does feel a bit sorry for them. The only thing that actually worked in their favour was probably missing out on Robin Uthappa in the auction.

Uthappa cost a whopping 800,000 $ in the auction . This is what he has done so far - 52 in 232 balls @ a strike rate of 108.62 . So at this rate he helps (or hinders) his team to 130 runs in 20 overs . Throw in sachin's run out a bunch of missed chances , he would probably be making matters even worse for RCB, given the fact that they avg 140 per innings (including the 82 in the first game against KKR).

Everything has a first time

Shahid Afridi bowling to Sachin Tendulkar ...

Flighted delivery ...

Tendulkar looks to hit it out of the ground ...

Tendulkar hits one high in the air, ball skies up , and comes down to the safe hands of the fielder and mid on.

A loud roar goes up in the crowd as Sachin walks back to the pavilion. No folks this is not Lahore, or Karachi ... this is Hyderabad , India . An Indian crowd cheering Sachin's dismissal , i guess I'd never thought that this day would ever come. Maybe India is after all ready for Pro Sports !
